Welcome to my weekly newsletter on current events in different Latin American countries. Written by Susanne Schweitzer.

I am originally from Germany, trilingual and specialized in Latin American politics and human rights. In December 2020, I graduated from two master’s programs in journalism and international relations from New York University (NYU) and started my own media outlet called Diarios LatAm. The goal of Diarios LatAm is to share current events in Latin America in English and Spanish here in the United States, in Europe and Latin America in an accessible and bilingual way with resources from different news outlets and my own original reporting. I am currently doing a diploma in human rights for journalists organized by the Inter-American Human Rights Court. Through my current projects, I am getting involved in various topics to shed light on injustices and cases of human rights violations in the region in general, and also in regard to immigrants from these countries here in the U.S.
